The first Mahakuma of India was established in Jessore on 1786. Later it was shifted to Trimohani in Keshabpur upazila. It was transferred to Murali in 1893. 1st February 1984 was created in Sadar upazila.Mr. Sheikh Rabiul Alam, the first elected Chairman and Mr. KK Sarkar, First Executive Officer .
